privacy policy
Effective October 21, 2026
Ayo Ayo Café ("Ayo Ayo", "we", "us") is a wellness café in General Luna, Siargao, Philippines. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website (ayoayo.life), at the café, and through the tools we use to run the business, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
what we collect
When you visit ayoayo.life. The website has no sign-up forms, no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider, Vercel, automatically records basic technical information (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The homepage includes an embedded Google Map, which Google may use to set its own cookies under the Google Privacy Policy.
When you visit the café. Our point-of-sale system records what you order and how you paid. We don't ask for your name, phone number or email to place an order. If you pay by e-wallet or bank transfer, we may keep a screenshot of the payment confirmation so we can match it to your order. That screenshot may show your account name or number.
When you contact us. If you message us on Instagram or email us, we receive whatever you choose to send, along with your username or email address.
If you work with us. For our own staff we keep the records needed to run payroll and scheduling, such as name, role, a sign-in PIN, attendance times and attendance photos, pay records, and requests for leave, overtime or cash advances. Staff can see their own records in our staff portal.
how we use it
- To serve you, take payment, and keep accurate sales and tax records.
- To reply to your messages and questions.
- To pay our team correctly and meet our obligations as an employer.
- To keep our systems working, secure and backed up.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
google user data
We run an internal backup tool that connects to Ayo Ayo's own Google account. It asks for one permission: Google Drive access limited to files the tool creates itself (the drive.file scope). It uses that access only to upload nightly backups of our own business records to our own Drive and to remove backups older than 90 days. It cannot see or open any other files in Drive.
Data obtained through Google APIs is never sold, never shared with third parties, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI or machine-learning models. Ayo Ayo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Access can be revoked at any time from myaccount.google.com/permissions.
who we share it with
We only share information with the service providers that run our systems for us, and only as much as they need to do that job:
- Vercel (website hosting)
- Google Cloud and Google Drive (hosting our café systems and storing backups)
- Supabase (database and file storage for our point-of-sale system)
- Telegram (internal staff messages about expenses and stock)
- OpenAI (reading text from supplier receipts we photograph for our expense records)
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example to a government authority with a valid legal request.
how long we keep it
We keep sales and payroll records for as long as Philippine tax and labor laws require. Nightly database backups are deleted after 90 days. Messages are kept only as long as they're useful for helping you.
how we protect it
Our systems sit with reputable cloud providers, staff sign in with individual PINs, and access to sensitive records is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care and will tell affected people and the National Privacy Commission if a breach puts personal information at risk.
your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, and get a copy of it. To make a request, email ayoayowellness@gmail.com. If you aren't satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the National Privacy Commission.
children
Our website and services aren't aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
